February Chat 2015

So it’s that time where we are overdue on another monthly Chat post. I should probably give up pointing out my tardiness with these posts and just accept that I’ll forever be late with them!

The beginning of the month was packed full of school tests and deadlines for essays and all that fun stuff so I didn’t have much time for doing much else apart studying (yippee!)
One of my and my mother’s conjoined new year’s resolution was to visit more tourist attractions from around Cork. Our first stop was the Jameson Experience. We took a tour of all the old building and they explained to us how whiskey was and is made. There was a whiskey tasting at the end (which I didn’t do, but thoroughly enjoyed watching my mam struggling to drink it!)

During the mid-term break, my friends had a bit of a gathering and a gossip session. One of the girls had made us a pasta bake, which was the best comfort food, but what topped that was the rocky  road! Literally the best combination if you want to stuff your face and not care!

This month, for me, has been the month of the quiches (completely inspired by The Red Brunette!)! I have been having quiche nearly everyday because they are just so so so yummy! Unfortunately, I didn’t have the same luck when I tried to make a chocolate swiss roll! From the moment it came out of the oven, it was doomed. It cracked before I even started to roll it, the buttercream wouldn’t spread and simply made holes in the cake! It ended up being a big cracked lump of chocolate-y mess! And then I went ahead and I dropped it on the ground, just to make sure that it was the biggest baking fail ever known! (go big or go home, right?)

So that's all for this month! Let me know what you got up to during the month of February!

  1. Aww I'm glad I inspired you with my love for quiche! I haven't made one in a while I better to keep up my title of quiche loving queen ๐Ÿ˜œ

    1. Thanks for that!! I didn't make one this weekend and I am so disappointed with a sandwich now!! It just doesn't live up to it!
